Marco Pignataro es un saxofonista, compositor y educador, originario de Bolonia (Italia). Ha compartido escenarios con artistas como Eddie Gómez, Joanne Brackeen, Danilo Pérez, George Garzone, John Patitucci, Rufus Reid, Kenwood Dennard, Antonio Sánchez, Ben Street, Billy Drummond, Billy Hart, Víctor Lewis, Clark Terry y Jon Faddis , entre otros. Pignataro también realiza giras internacionales con varios grupos musicales, incluyendo el Marco Pignataro Jazzet y el Quinteto de Eddie Gómez.
Ha sido director y cofundador del Departamento de Música de Jazz y del Caribe y fue presidente del Departamento de Saxofón Jazz en el Conservatorio de Música de Puerto Rico. Actualmente, es Director General del Berklee Global Jazz Institute (BGJI), un nuevo programa diseñado para fomentar la creatividad y la musicalidad a través de una variedad de disciplinas musicales.
Marco Pignataro is a saxophonist, composer and educator, originally from Bologna (Italy). He has shared stages with artists such as Eddie Gómez, Joanne Brackeen, Danilo Pérez, George Garzone, John Patitucci, Rufus Reid, Kenwood Dennard, Antonio Sanchez, Ben Street, Billy Drummond, Billy Hart, Victor Lewis, Clark Terry and Jon Faddis, among others. Pignataro also performs international tours with various musical groups, including the Marco Pignataro Jazzet and the Eddie Gómez Quintet.
He has been director and co-founder of the Jazz and Caribbean Music Department and was president of the Jazz Saxophone Department at the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico. Currently, he is the General Director of the Berklee Global Jazz Institute (BGJI), a new program designed to encourage creativity and musicality through a variety of musical disciplines.Berklee Global Jazz Institute
